Physical Education

Mission

The mission of the physical education program is to empower all students, to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as one of the cornerstones for a healthy, productive and fulfilling life.

Physical edu

Physical Education Program

The physical education program, sometimes known as PE or Gym, is designed for students to develop the physical competence that leads to confidence and participation in physical activity for a lifetime. Achieve Language Academy wants to help students find a variety of ways to enjoy being physically active so that they will be able to get all of the physical, emotional, intellectual and social benefits that come to someone who is physically active.

We recognize that children are at different development levels, with a variety of needs and interests. For this reason, we hope to create experiences that are both beneficial and enjoyable in each class.

Goals

The three major student goals of the physical education program are the following:

  1. Provide a positive experience in a variety of fitness activities and recreational sports
  2. Present activities that result in improved muscular coordination, flexibility, strength and endurance
  3. Prepare developmentally appropriate curriculum based and national physical education standards

It’s not necessarily about out-working the person across from me. It’s out-working that VOICE inside of me that says, "I’m too tired. I don’t feel like doing it. I can settle."

In addition to loving all things active, I also enjoy time with my family, attending local sporting events, coaching, gardening, and cooking. To me there is nothing better than going out to the garden to pick fresh fruits and vegetables to cook dinner with, that is if the kids have left anything for me to use.

My sports allegiances are all Minnesotan with the exception of cheering for my alma mater, UW-River Falls. Go Falcons!

I believe that play has a large role happiness so I try to make a point to play as much as possible with my favorites being golf, hockey, and football.  When I am looking to relax I head for the water.  Weather fishing or just sitting on a bench enjoying the views being near the water is where I find I am able to let everything go.
