2023-2024 Calendar Change

Dear Achieve Language Academy Community,

As you know, Achieve Language Academy is about to begin a year-long process of renovating and expanding our existing building.  In order to meet the needed construction timelines necessary to ensure the best learning environment and limited academic disruption, the decision to adjust our school calendar for the end of THIS school year was approved at the March Board meeting.

Change:

The end of the school calendar is currently slated to end on June 6th.  Due to the construction needs, the end of the year will move to May 31st, thus ending one week earlier than approved at the beginning of the year.  Each year, extra days are planned into the school year to offset any potential school closings due to snow days.  Due to the mild winter, we have not used any snow days which will allow us to meet the mandatory number of hours for academic learning, even with the four day adjustment to the end of the year.

We share this information with you as quickly as possible to ensure that all families have time to make childcare arrangements or summer plans which are required due to the adjusted ending of the school year.

Achieve Language Academy está a punto de comenzar un proyecto para renovar y mejorar nuestro edificio. Para cumplir con los plazos necesarios de construcción y para garantizar el mejor ambiente para el aprendizaje y una interrupción limitada, la decisión de ajustar nuestro calendario escolar para el final de ESTE año escolar fue aprobada en la reunión de la Junta de marzo.

Actualmente, el final del calendario escolar está previsto que finalice el 6 de junio. Debido a las necesidades de construcción, el final de año se cambiará al 31 de mayo, finalizando así una semana antes de lo aprobado a principios de año. Cada año, se planifican días adicionales durante el año escolar para compensar cualquier posible cierre de escuelas debido a los días de nieve. Debido al suave invierno, no hemos utilizado ningún día de nieve, esto nos permitirá cumplir con la cantidad obligatoria de horas para el aprendizaje académico, incluso con el ajuste de cuatro días hasta el fin de año.

Compartimos esta información con usted lo más rápido posible para garantizar que todas las familias tengan tiempo para hacer los arreglos de cuidado infantil o los planes de verano necesarios debido al final ajustado del año escolar.
