To our Achieve Language Academy Families -
We have made the difficult decision to make a temporary transition to distance learning due to the increasing number of positive cases in our community and the projected cases over the next couple weeks in Minnesota. We have been having these conversations for several weeks now, and have finally reached a point where we are uncomfortable with both the confirmed cases among our students and staff, as well as the projected numbers in the greater community and the potential to expose someone within our building who then becomes very ill. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority, and we believe we have kept our students in person as long as we reasonably and safely can. We have also reached a point where it is becoming a daily challenge to find enough staff to successfully run our program.
We want to be very clear that we intend to ensure this change in our learning model is as short as possible. We hope that by waiting as long as we felt we could, we have minimized the amount of time students will need to be at home. The Mayo Clinic is predicting the peak number of cases in Minnesota to be reached sometime next week and then begin falling quickly. Our goal is that by briefly moving to distance learning, we will be able to successfully continue the rest of the school year in-person.
Therefore, Achieve Language Academy will be moving to distance learning for all students beginning this Thursday, January 20, 2022. We have set a tentative return to in-person learning for all students on Tuesday, February 7.
There will be no on-site childcare available.
We will have food available for pick up - more information will be shared as soon as possible.
Students will be bringing their Chromebooks home to support their learning. Students will be expected to attend virtual meetings every day with their classroom teachers and specialists. More information will be provided regarding your students’ schedule as soon as classroom plans are finalized.
We know distance learning is a hardship for many families, and we did not make this decision easily or lightly. We sincerely hope this is the last time we have to transition our learning model due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
More information will be coming from your student(s) teachers regarding meeting times, assignments, and expectations during distance learning. If you have questions regarding assignments or academic expectations, please reach out to your child’s teacher. If you have questions or concerns about anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out to our administrative team. We will do our very best to support you during this time.

Hemos tomado la decisión de hacer una transición temporal al aprendizaje a distancia debido al creciente número de casos positivos en nuestra comunidad y los casos proyectados durante las próximas dos semanas en Minnesota. Hemos tenido estas conversaciones durante varias semanas y finalmente hemos llegado a un punto en el que nos sentimos incómodos tanto con los casos confirmados entre nuestros estudiantes y personal, como con los números proyectados en la comunidad en general y el potencial de exponer a alguien dentro de nuestro edificio que luego se pueden enfermar. Por lo tanto, Achieve Language Academy pasará al aprendizaje a distancia para todos los estudiantes a partir de este jueves 20 de enero de 2022. Hemos establecido un regreso tentativo al aprendizaje en persona para todos los estudiantes el martes 7 de febrero.

Los estudiantes traerán sus Chromebooks a casa para apoyar su aprendizaje. Se espera que los estudiantes asistan a reuniones virtuales todos los días con los maestros y especialistas de su salón.
