¡Hola! I am originally from Wisconsin, the oldest of 5 siblings. I have enjoyed teaching, learning, traveling, and pushing myself to grow and do new things throughout my life. When I was 25, I decided to immerse myself in Spanish and moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico, where I took classes and later got a job teaching English to high school students at a school in the community.
I truly have a passion for teaching and working in school, but when I'm not, I also love reading and doing activities outside, especially during the sunny days in Minnesota. My interest areas outside of Spanish and language learning include psychology, philosophy and history. I enjoy biking, running, walking, swimming and dancing, as well as spending time with friends having deep conversations. At family gatherings, I tease my 13 nieces and nephews with riddles and try to get them to speak Spanish!
My husband, Camilo, is from Boyocá, Colombia and is also a teacher. He is currently working in the Minnetonka school district as a kindergarten Spanish immersion teacher. We live in a small home in St. Louis Park and our two mischievous cats (brothers) Luca and Jojo.
