The mission of the PreK program is to provide a safe, encouraging, hands-on environment in which to educate the whole child and ensure kindergarten readiness.
Achieve PreK began in the fall of 2004, and is for children who will be four-years-old on or before, September 1st. Located at Achieve Language Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota, our PreK program is intended for children with little to no preschool experience, but are ready to stretch their imaginations and reach their greatest potential!
The three major goals of our team are the following:
Prepare each child to become a global citizen through social skills, emotional development, and knowledge of the world around them
Develop a life-long love for learning through experiential, hands-on learning activities
Provide a solid academic foundation through the development of pre-reading, pre-writing, and pre-math skills
Achieve PreK meets in two half-day sessions – 7:55-10:30 am and 12:00-2:35 pm, Monday-Friday. Busing is available before and after each session.

PLAY is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.
My name is Amber Boie and this is my third year at Achieve Language Academy! I currently have my Associate’s Degree from Normandale Community College. I am currently back in college now, working towards getting my teaching license! I have always had a passion working with children. I have had a lot of experience in Early Childhood Education which has inspired me to solidify my career choice in teaching!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and others who are close to me! I love to dance (for fun, of course), read, and snuggle up to my favorite shows! My favorite season is fall...when school starts! I look forward to working with our families every year. Together, we can achieve anything!
While this is my fourth year teaching PreKindergarten at Achieve and my thirteenth year of teaching. Previously, I taught a range of ages from PreK through 5th grade. Currently, I am living in Farmington with my husband Steven, three children: Catherine (13), Dawson (6), Ashlynn (4) and our cat, Gracie.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, learning/practicing the Spanish language, reading, scrapbooking, rollerblading, drinking new types of tea (especially chai), creating Donor's Choose projects and surfing the internet for new technology!
I believe in building a sense of community in the classroom and promoting positive relationships among students and teachers. Students must feel they are in a safe, mindful, fair, and comfortable environment where they can equally contribute by sharing and gaining knowledge. I believe all students are capable of learning.
My goal as an educator is to ensure every student reaches his or her full academic potential. I'm a strong advocate of preschool not only preparing students for success in Kindergarten, but for preparing children to become confident in themselves, gain independence, embrace/explore their cultural identity, and most importantly, to enjoy coming to school every day.
