Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we continue to learn more about the school closures and COVID-19. The information we get from the state departments of health and education change daily, so we will continue to update you as we know more information. Please consider sharing this email and the information with family and friends who attend Achieve so everyone knows what is happening.
We are asking all families to complete the survey below. If you completed the survey yesterday, please complete it again as new questions have been added to help us better serve you and your students and provide resources.
The Conway Center is closed until further notice. If you are a healthcare or emergency worker and need childcare, please let us know using the survey above.
Report Cards and Progress Reports
Report cards and progress reports from trimester 2 will be sent home by mail later this week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
Teachers and Staff
Our teachers and staff are currently in the planning stages of preparing for distance learning, which would begin after spring break if we continue to stay closed. Many of them are working from home to help slow the spread of the virus and keep their families safe. However, they are all still available via email if you need to get in touch with them.
Communicating with Teachers
We are working on plans for how parents can still contact teachers via phone while they are working from home. Watch for more information soon. In the meantime, email is always a great option and teachers are checking theirs regularly.
Starting tomorrow (3/18/20), students in grades 5-8 will have access to Google Email. Students will need to log into their Google account as normal and then select Gmail from the top right menu. Emails for teachers and staff can be found here.
As of now, distance learning will begin on April 6th if Achieve is still closed at that time. There are a few things you should know as we are working on finalizing those plans:
Schools will still take attendance during this time period.
Students must have an interaction with their teacher every day during distance learning or they will be marked absent. This interaction can be via email, phone call, video chat, or other means.
We are trying to keep work as low tech as possible for families who do not have access to the internet or devices. This includes providing paper based activities, phone access to teachers, and so on.
Students will be expected to complete learning activities each day and turn them in periodically throughout the distance learning period to earn a grade for this trimester.
We will not be providing instruction during this planning period or during spring break.
Family Contact Information
It is more important now than ever that we have accurate contact information for your family. If your phone number, email address, or home address has changed, please contact the front office so we can update our systems.
We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes. If you have questions or need other help or support, please don’t hesitate to contact the school. For the most recent updates, please visit https://www.achievemn.org/coronavirus-update.
