On February 7th, the 4th graders were part of the Youth Frontiers Kindness Retreat. It's a high-energy day to give students tools to develop empathy, promote kindness and prevent bullying.
The students are empowered to be everyday heroes by using kindness to include others, to be respectful and to make your school a better place. They played games, sang songs, and worked closely during small group activity time. They learned about the "kindness boomerang" and how to throw out kindness to others. In addition, they developed positive ways to be a hero in the face of unkind actions.
