The mission of the lower intermediate program is to promote student social and academic growth.
Lower Intermediate Program
Achieve Language Academy students benefit from a positive, safe environment within our classrooms using the Responsive Classroom model. Our 3rd and 4th grade classrooms strive to validate and teach appreciation of all cultures. Our elementary school environment helps our students grow to be life long learners.
The three major student goals of our team are the following:
Use test driven data to determine students' needs and drive instruction
Use differentiation to meet the needs of all learners
Incorporate literacy across core subject areas
Grade 3 Math & Science
Third graders learners are curious and adventurous learners! In third grade, students become independent learners through hands on learning experiences in both math and science. Learning to multiply, dissecting owl pellets, playing math games and learning about the structures of crayfish are just a few third grade adventures.
3rd and 4th Grade Staff
The point is not to pay back KINDNESS,
but to pass it on.
4th Grade Math and Science Teacher
I have been a teacher for at Achieve for 12 years, and really like working with kids. I went to Gustavus Adolphus College.
My wife, Tina, works in Human Resources. We have two children, Knut, a seventh grader and Signe, a fifth grader. We enjoy spending time at our family cabin. We are really into sports, especially football and baseball
3rd Grade Math and Science Teacher
My name is Beth Brandt and I have been a teacher at Achieve Language Academy for twenty years. Currently, I teach third graders all about Math and Science. I love being part of the Achieve community - where our students Work, Respect and Belong.
An interesting fact about me is that I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade and now I teach third grade!
I received my degree in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College. I live in North St. Paul with my husband, Eric, my mom, Pam, my daughter, Emma and our two dogs, Toby and Max.
4th Grade English Language Arts Teacher
I have been a teacher for 6 years, and I love helping kids learn to become more independent. I went to Minneapolis College of Art and Design for my bachelor's degree, and Hamline University for my Master's. My husband, Mitchell, works as a machinist. We have one child, Oskar, who will be 2 years old soon. We enjoy spending time at our cabin in Wisconsin, and love being active outdoors.
