Middle Level (grades 7-8)
The mission of the Middle Level program is to provide a structured, safe environment where culturally diverse independent learners can explore a variety of academic opportunities.
Our three major student goals are to:
- Prepare our students for the academic rigor of high school.
- Empower students to drive their own learning and explore a variety of interests.
- Provide a safe environment where students can grow as they become teenagers.
Middle School is a transitional stage for every student. Most of our students go on to a large public high school. Our program focuses on developing daily routines and real-life practices that will prepare each student for high school. All classes are a mix of both 7th and 8th grade students. The daily schedule includes a rotation between the 4 core subject areas; language arts, math, science, and social studies, as well as a "homebase" and variety of exploratory classes.
