About Achieve Language Academy

ACHIEVE is a Minnesota Public Charter School serving up to 400 Pre-kindergarten through Grade 8 learners. We are tuition-free and financed the same way as other public schools. Governed locally by parents and educators we are free to be innovative in design and instruction. As a public charter school we are highly accountable to the local community and our sponsoring agency. Achieve Language Academy is built on the belief that good schools transform communities; that community is created by shared values and common goals; that all children can learn and achieve; and that education is essential to a prosperous and fulfilling life.

Mission
The mission of Achieve Language Academy is to

• Enhance the academic performance by promoting and maintaining high academic standards and expectations.
• Strengthen the abilities of students whose primary language is not English to excel within the English speaking community.
• Assure that all students come to understand and respect the language and heritage of all cultures.
• Enrich and improve students' academic progress through community partnerships and service within the community.

Unique Characteristics at Achieve

• We provide all students an opportunity to become literate in two languages, English and either Hmong or Spanish.
• Each student has an individualized continuous learning plan based on input from parents, teachers, and student.
• Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and productive child-centered environment.
• We provide an extended summer programming available for all students.
• We offer a Pre-kindergarten program for 4 year olds that meets 5-day a week.

Achieve has a racially and ethnically diverse population, with the majority speaking English as a second language. All students have an individualized learning plan that is developed cooperatively between parents, student, and Achieve teachers.

School Hours
School hours are between 9:05 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. The exact start and end times may vary by a few minutes due our transportation contract
